    The Swedish company Scania AB is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles. They manufacture heavy lorries, trucks and buses.

    Their products are manufactured in factories across Europe and Latin America. This means that they can avoid production bottlenecks in their home market and deliver to the global customer base simultaneously.

    Engine

    Engines are one of the most important parts of a vehicle. They are responsible for generating power, and they are also a major part of the overall safety of your car.

    Scania produces engines for cars, trucks and other commercial vehicles, as well as industrial and marine equipment. The company is based in Sweden and operates worldwide.

    The company was originally formed in 1911 when two small Swedish companies, Vagnfabriks Aktiebolaget i Sodertelge (Vabis) and Maskinfabriks-aktiebolaget Scania, merged. They had previously built railway cars and bicycles, but a merger was needed to continue manufacturing reliable vehicles.

    In 1953, the company produced its first complete bus, the transversally rear-engined Metropol (C50) for Stockholms Sparvagar in Sodertalje. It was followed in 1955 by the slightly shorter city bus version Capitol (C70/C75/C76), which continued to be manufactured until 1964.

    Since then, the company has built buses for a variety of purposes. Some are used as tourist coaches, while others are built for urban traffic.

    For example, Scania has a range of low-entry buses, designed to make it easier for passengers to get in and out. In 1992, they launched the MaxCi, a step-entrance intercity bus with a kneeling area in the centre of the bodywork.

    These models are available in several versions, including double-deckers and midibuses. The company has also worked with bodywork manufacturers to supply chassis to them for their own designs.

    The company also has a series of trucks for long-haul transport, which are known as the S-series. These vehicles have large cabins, more visibility and modern safety systems. They also have flat floors and storage facilities for cargo. They are also equipped with a high performance braking system.

    Transmission

    The transmission in a Scania is a very important part of the overall vehicle, enabling it to function properly and also giving the driver the control they need. The Scania transmission is a complex device with many different parts and components, all of which are designed to perform their function optimally.

The gearbox is a small, lightweight and compact design with a smooth power transmission, which allows it to work perfectly alongside the 13-litre engines in the Super range.

    On top of that, the transmission has many other features that set it apart from the rest. For example, it has a surround camera system that helps to keep the driver in touch with their surroundings at all times.

    The best feature, however, is that this transmission also allows the truck to be equipped with a bunch of cool extras like an onboard fridge, a seven-inch screen for audio and navigation and even USB slots in the dash for charging mobile phones. The transmission has also been remanufactured by one of Europe’s leading industrial remanufacturers, STS, in Stenungsund, Sweden.

    Body

    The body of a Scania vehicle is a key part of the whole truck, and its shape, size and functionality play an important role in its overall appearance. A wide range of bodies is offered to customers, and they are produced in a variety of versions. These include tractor units, cab chassis trucks, concrete mixer trucks and dump trucks.

    The company’s body production is carried out in a modern factory in Oskarshamn on the Sweden’s east coast, where a workforce of 2700 manufactures cabs for all Scania models. These are delivered to the company’s assembly plants in Sodertalje near Stockholm, Zwolle in the Netherlands and Angers in France, where they are reassembled into the full truck chassis.

    At present, the body production is almost entirely automated. This gives the Oskarshamn factory huge flexibility, right down to a single batch on one line.

    It also means that the company is better equipped to handle niche markets such as special vehicles for fire services or waste collection. Lars Kreutner, Project Leader Cab Body Production at Scania, says that this new technology is the key to a more efficient production and a higher quality.
