Are you having a problem on how to replace a battery in the key fob? Then, don’t worry because it’s not as difficult as you think. The first thing that you should do is to determine the type of battery you are using in your key fob. By doing this, you will be able to determine the right kind of battery to replace. On some of the key fob, you will find the battery compartment under the key switch or the handle. If you find this compartment, then the best option for you is to buy a new one.

However, in some of the key fob, there may be a little hole on the underside or top of the key fob. This is the place where the battery slides into when you are putting the device in reverse mode. In this case, you have two options on how to replace the battery. You can either drill this hole and replace the old battery with the new one or you can replace the whole unit.

If you are planning to replace the whole unit, then you have to consider the power source. The most common types of battery used in key fob are the alkaline batteries. The other types of battery include the lithium ion battery and the nickel metal hydride battery. The reason why you have to replace them is because their life cycle is shorter than the standard alkaline battery.

When you are about to replace the battery, you have to make sure that the terminals of the new one are well attached with the ones that you already have on your key fob. To do this, you have to remove the screws of the existing unit. Once you have removed the old battery, you need to look inside its casing. You can see that the battery is wired with a wire that runs through the casing.

Once you are done with this, you need to remove the wire with the wire that runs through the casing. Now the tricky part on how to replace a battery in a key fob is when you are about to screw the wires back, you need to turn the key fob counterclockwise. This is to slow down the process of the electricity flow.

After doing so, you need to place the replacement battery on the key fob. Then connect the new battery with the terminals on the key fob. Then make sure that the screws are well tightened. That’s all you have to know on how to replace a battery in a key fob.
