Abarth is an Italian brand belonging to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. It produces sports cars based on Fiat models.
Founded by the famous racer Carlo Abarth, the brand has its unique DNA and is synonymous with performance, great driving pleasure and sporty appeal.
The brand’s vehicles are designed to improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the car and enhance its performance. They are equipped with powerful Brembo braking systems and sports suspensions.
Uprated Injectors
If you have a 500 Abarth with a large turbo, then you may be able to get more power out of your car by upgrading its injectors. Abarth Car Parts sells a variety of uprated Bosch fuel injectors for your Abarth model. They are available in a range of sizes and can be used with your stock pump to produce more power out of your engine. They are all-fuels rated and come with a flow chart. This allows you to see how much each injector can withstand, as well as how much fuel it can deliver at different RPMs and temperatures.
Whenever you need to upgrade your fuel injectors, make sure to look for the best brand products and read through reviews to help you decide which ones are right for you. After you’ve found the product you want, make sure to compare it with other brands and prices online or in person at your local Advance Auto Parts. This is the best way to ensure you are getting the right part for your car and to find a great deal on it at the same time!
Air Induction Kit
Having a turbocharged engine requires lots of cool air to keep it operating at its best. The stock system does the job, but if you want to really make the most of your engine you need to be able to pull air out of the atmosphere. In this test we found the best way to do that is by adding a fender well air intake.
The kit in question is the 63-1700 AirCharger by K&N, it comes with a chrome topped air filter and a heat shield that fits neatly into the original air box space. The air flow enhancing device is accompanied by an impressive looking duct that sucks in fresh air and a p-clip to attach the duct to the stock air intake. The duct is a must have for anyone with a 1.4-litre turbo Abarth or 500 & 595.
The kit is a real head turner and even the smallest of hands should be able to handle the task of fitting it. The flimsy plastic filter housing was replaced with a shiny stainless steel one which fit nicely in the tight engine bay. The swanky new filter and duct system is accompanied by a matching stainless steel hose and clip. It is the most fun to install and assemble of all the kits we have tested and it is also the most practical to boot!
Remapped Turbo
Remaps are a relatively affordable way of improving your car’s performance. These alter the on-board computer (often called an Electronic Control Unit, or ECU) with new software to unlock more power.
A remap can be done to increase your cars power and torque, or it can improve its fuel efficiency. However, a remap will put more stress on the engine and can also affect your manufacturers warranty.
Remapping an engine is a very delicate operation and can be carried out by a trained professional only. It involves physically tampering with the engine’s ECU, or reprogramming it through an OBD port.
Typically a remap will come in several’stages’, each requiring a different amount of work to the car’s engine. ‘Stage 1’ remaps are typically a light reprogramming to boost power and can cost as little as a few hundred pounds.
Then there are ‘Stage 2’ and above which can require additional hardware such as downpipes, exhaust and intercoolers. This can add to the cost of a remap and it’s essential to account for these changes to ensure your car can get maximum benefits from your upgrade.
A remapped turbo is another great performance enhancement to consider for your Abarth. It is a fantastic upgrade for both standard and Abarth Turbo engines, it offers big power gains and full release of the engines potential.
Supercharger
Abarth Car Parts’ supercharger is a great way to get more power out of your car. It’s one of the more expensive modifications, but it will give you significant power gains.
This is particularly beneficial on engines that have had lots of sports modifications done to them. Often, after modifications are made, there can be a power loss or flat spot that is caused by timing issues. Uprated injectors are usually the first modification to try to fix these problems.
Uprated intake piping will also help. These will help with boosting the air into your engine, and removing any restrictions that may be in place.
If you have a turbocharged engine, it can be a good idea to upgrade the turbo as well, though this is not as common on these engines. A remapped turbo can give you large power gains, and it is simpler to install than a supercharger.
The Abarth 1.4 liter Multiair 4 cylinder turbocharged engine was designed by Chrysler and is the source of all the power and torque in the Abarth. Its infinitely variable valve timing allows for low end torque and top end power for improved efficiency and performance.
The Abarth was a fun car to drive, and a good option for those looking for a sports vehicle. You’ll find plenty of affordable used Abarths on the market, and they make a great choice for those that want an inexpensive way to get into motoring.
Alloy Wheels
An alloy wheel is a big round bit of metal shaped into a nice design that you can fit onto your car to improve the look of it. However, it is not a simple thing to get your head around as there are more components than just the rim and face of the wheel.
Alloy wheels can come in all different shapes and sizes, from small tyres to huge ones that stick out far beyond the face of the rim. They are generally made from a mixture of aluminium and magnesium which helps to increase their strength, and make them less likely to break down over time.
One of the most common types of alloy wheels is the bigger, chunkier ‘wedge’ style. They can be a bit more expensive than other sizes, but are often more desirable, and will command a higher price when the time comes to sell your car.
The biggest problem with bigger alloy wheels is that they add more unsprung mass to the corners of your car, making it harder for the suspension to keep the wheel on the road. This will then make it harder for your car to regain grip on bumps in the road, and could also result in a more rough ride.
Abarth Car Parts have an extensive selection of alloy wheels to choose from, so it’s easy to find the perfect pair for your vehicle. Whether you’re looking for a classic look or something more contemporary, we have the right wheels for you.
